Technical demonstration

Custom business dashboard with API integration

A reference design for an internal dashboard that pulls data from several third-party services into one view, with a small, well-defined backend.

This is a technical demonstration of our approach, not a description of work for a specific client. It contains no customer results.

The problem

What usually goes wrong

Operational data is often spread across several SaaS tools. Staff export spreadsheets to answer simple questions, and the numbers rarely match.

Approach

How we approach it

  1. 1

Define the handful of questions the dashboard must answer before choosing any charts.

  2. 2

Build a typed backend that fetches from each provider's API, validates responses, and stores normalised records in PostgreSQL.

  3. 3

Schedule synchronisation jobs with retries and clear logging when a provider is unavailable.

  4. 4

Build a responsive Next.js interface with role-based access and filters that match how the team works.

  5. 5

Document the data model and integration contracts so new sources can be added later.
